]many hundreds of people is sleeping in hospitals for along period without improvement and cost there familys , and their famylies wants to control the situation and some times the patient them selfs wants to end their pain but our principles & religious refuse ending pts life (euthanasia). so we will be in dellima ...what can we do??ending the pt life or continue the treatment?!!!!??
Definition of euthanasia:
Euthanasia is the intentional killing by act or omission of a dependent human being for his or her alleged benefit by a physician, usually by lethal injection and sometimes known as "mercy-killing".
Types of euthanasia:
• Voluntary euthanasia: When the person who is killed has requested to be killed.
• Non-voluntary: When the person who is killed made no request and gave no consent.
• Involuntary euthanasia: When the person who is killed made an expressed wish to the contrary.
• Assisted suicide: Someone provides an individual with the information, guidance, and means to take his or her own life with the intention that they will be used for this purpose. When it is a doctor who helps another person to kill themselves it is called "physician assisted suicide."
• Euthanasia By Action: Intentionally causing a person's death by performing an action such as by giving a lethal injection.
• Euthanasia By Omission: Intentionally causing death by not providing necessary and ordinary (usual and customary) care or food and water
Euthanasia in Palestine :
euthanasia is not common but a taboo here in Palestine & in the arab world in general despite the increasing number of critical cases & the number of patients who can’t live with out a ventilator ; but our religions ( islam , Christians & jewish ) reject euthanasia & refuse stopping life of any organ of the body even if it was a request from the patient him self ….
Our belifs that the god is the only one who is responsible about our souls and he is the only one who can know when the person will die & control his life length .
